Procedure Step 1: An initial meeting is scheduled to acquaint the client with my work and the working process. Price, time required to complete a painting, pose, clothing and schedules for photo sessions or painting from life are discussed. An agreement is set up between the client and the artist which the client will be asked to sign. A 50% retainer of the total price is required to be paid by the client to the artist at this time. Step 2: Subsequent meeting will be scheduled to discuss photos and sketches with the client and a second photo session may be necessary. If the client has requested a work from life, the artist will schedule several consecutive days of sittings of approximately 2-3 hours each. Photo referencing is sometimes used to implement this process. Step 3: A final meeting is scheduled to insure the client's approval of the painting. Step 4: An optional consultation with the framer is scheduled if the client wishes to have the artist's input into selection of frame. The complete process is normally
completed between 3 to 6 weeks. Less time is usually required for
pastel paintings. |
